This is a BBC documentary with an interesting paradox about manmade Global Warming.
It’s about how unintentional increased reflectance of the sun, due to manmade pollution, has actually hidden the effects of increased carbon dioxide in the atmosphere. So whilst the planet has been warming due to greenhouse gasses, it’s actually been warming at a slower rate than it otherwise would’ve, if the atmosphere wasn’t so polluted with particles.
Particles which help to increase the amount of sun reflected back into space.
Thus the reference “global dimming”. What does that mean exactly?
That means that as we work to reduce man made pollution and actually clean up the atmosphere, it could potentially see global warming increase at a rate which was otherwise previously not expected.
