Backyard Solar Power Revolution...

Deforestation has become a major issue that’s accelerating climate change and rapidly affecting human, plant, insect, and animal lives every single day. It’s incredible that some can constantly deny that climate change is real and, moreover, that humans are to blame for its quick progression when scientists state that 99% of currently threatened species are at risk of becoming extinct because of human activities.

Such activities include global warming and habit loss, which is largely deforestation, and is causing dozens of species to go extinct every single day. Luckily, when humans finally decide to face what we have done, there are methods like aerial seed bombing that will come in handy with restoring our forests.

Aerial reforestation is a new method that uses planes to drop pointed containers with saplings inside, which could effectively plant about one million trees every day…

Old Military Planes Repurposed To Drop 900,000 Tree Bombs A Day...

The original idea stemmed from a man named Peter Simmons, who suggested the following:

Equipment we developed for precision planting of fields of landmines can be adapted easily for planting trees. There are 2,500 C-130 transport aircraft in 70 countries, so the delivery system for planting forests is widely available – mostly mothballed in military hangers waiting for someone to hire them. The possibilities are amazing. We can fly at 1,000ft at 130 knots planting more than 3,000 cones a minute in a pattern across the landscape – just as we did with landmines, but in this case each cone contains a sapling. That’s 125,000 trees for each sortie and 900,000 trees in a day.

To build on this, few years ago a graduate student in Mechanical Engineering at MIT named Moshe Alamaro developed what are called conical canisters. The canisters are made of a biodegradable material that contain a seedling packed in soil and nutrients. They were designed to be dropped from a low-flying plane so that the canisters hit the ground at 200 mph and embed themselves in the soil, promising optimal growth.

With Alamaro’s canisters, a large aircraft could drop up to 100,000 saplings in a single flight, ultimately leading to nearly one million trees per day.

Thailand has already made plans to begin with a five-year pilot project that utilizes the aerial reforestation method to boost forest regeneration for forests that have deteriorated. Check out the video below to see how seed bombing works…

I hope those are not GMO seeds but the real organic ones. It probably isn’t organic because of the chemtrails and a variety of other pollutions it’s getting harder for biological life to survive.????

At last… Something to cheer about. 🙂

The Finns have been doing this for years!

Are these trees gmo?

what a load of TOSS…… military aircraft are 1, not allowed to be sold to the civilian market and 2, the OLD ones are worth a fortune and are mostly museum pieces !!!

You need to read better before you write…

MAYBE they shouldn’t use misleading and deceptive headlines and pictures Sven………. ?
…….my comment still stands, C-130’s are not sold to civilian people so the whole story really is just fiction……. lets use a UFO !!! ?

Nowhere is said the plains should be sold to civilians. Please read better before reacting. To quote you “my comment still stands…”

Reading comprehension, it’s critical to understanding what is being communicated. Paul the piece is not about airplanes. They could have just as easily said helicopters. Or gliders, or balloons. The main point here is about planting trees! And lots of them. It’s a brilliant idea. How the seedlings, the main thesis, get to fall from the sky is minimally relevant. Broaden that pinhead perspective and see the big picture. Do you do this in the rest of your life? Ask you wife.

Fuck you Norman, I know what I said…. my point was ABOUT the headlines seeing as it’s the HEADLINES that draw the reader in dickhead………… and it CLEARLY SAYS, “OLD MILITARY PLANES…..” !!

    Reply

Well clearly we don’t need to hear from the wife. Check out his page. Yes Neanderthal man, but the subject is trees.

From what I understand you can buy military aircraft (weapon systems removed). You cant buy militarized aircraft. There are C-130s roaming about as cargo planes.

    Reply

Government owned from what I am advised by a friend in the states…NO private sales of pure military aircraft (made specifically for the defence forces) that he is aware of !

    Reply

Norman Deeley this is truly a fake article. I’ve been in treeplanting forever. And we do use helicopters to get to work. But that’s to drop us off. Dropping trees from the sky. Pie in the sky. Lies in the sky

Interesting, but would it be safe for the animal species living in the reforested areas?

They would provide nutrients. Bad joke.

Airial seeding has worked very well in Australia post devestating fires and floods. NEVER mono culture but to preserve bio diversity several runs over time happen also airial spraying of mycelliums and other matter assist First pass is for over storey trees then the under story seeds get scattered works a treat here . Airborns assets are light aircraft and helicopters and now drones with ground crews monitoring and following up and remediating any area not going strong Fencing and feral animal eradication also is within the matrix. https://research.csiro.au/home/ I also agree that the heading of old bombers and its photo is a real cock up 🙂

    Reply

my problem with proposed seed drops, be it via plane, or drone, is that it will still be a mono culture of trees, it wont be like a real forest, full of a variety of plants for all levels of the forest, including the fungi needed to keep the root systems functioning.

Reply

I agree bud, but it may also attract birds who shit seeds consumed from different areas. I think it’s a pretty cool idea. We’ve got to start giving something back 🙂

    Reply

Oh i agree. A japanese gardener/scientist came up with the answer though years ago. He even beileves we could green deserts using it, a seed ball drop, the seed balls are made of clay and minerals, contain a collection of seeds and fingi spores. they break down gradually, resist animals eating them, and the plants in the seed balls decide who is going to grow where, which if you understand natrual gardening, its how it works. we are not good at puting plants where they want to be. As for birds, only a few seeds are going to be transitioned that way.. Monoculture forests basically create what is called “a green desert”, pine trees for example, acidify the soil, causing it to break down and wash away on slopes. Yeah we have to give something back. I do it all the time there are trees and plants all over this city via me. More of us do it instead of being lazy, and giving it up to the psychopathic control grid.. well im against that. I dont like giving up my rights. I got involved with the native planting group that does the 2-3 hour a saturday or sunday, i forget its name, but lots of fun. Every single one is more oxygen for us all. but i would like to see free fruit and nut forests as well, so we are not tied into this endless milking over crap food. If i had the space, i would be planting out myself a food forest.

Certainly we are sharp enough to understand the evolution of a forest. Can we drop the components over a accelerated period of time? Mold, mulch, ferns, etc. Followed by a variety of trees. Or we could plant trees one at a time! I think your way is excellent, really. If each of us planted four trees a year we could get ahead of this thing, perhaps. But considering 5% of us would show up for work,,, this is a much better idea. Thanks for your trees.

Boreal forest is sort of monoculture. White spruce in most. Black spruce in wet marshy. And pine in dry.

    And that’s what we plant

What’s the mortality rate? Average hand sapling plant is around 50 to 60 %. What’s it going to be like being shot out of a plan?

Reply

When we look into the forest culture and then complex culture that helps each other we find that the sampling rate is different than simply putting a sapling out and hoping it’ll go they need special micronutrients that is developed through an entire Forest culture so yeah loser pieces that we have to consider and develop

The problem was dumping baby trees into an area is that they don’t know how to thrive and survive they need their forest family -the elder forest trees – actually teach the baby forest trees where nutrients are and where water is, and teach them forest culture which is symbiotic with other species so while it sounds like a good idea it would be better to develop the micro biological growth and other things necessary for trees to thrive besides which as other people have said it would take using the planes which were not available. Forests are more than a pile of trees, they are complex environments worthy of, no, truly and powerfully necessary for, all life protection.

Reply

I think they do have the inherent knowledge on how tho survive. You underestimate mother nature. And human ingenuity. planes are not the problem.

Forest habitat history and genome issues are very important. Grasses also help with active biorestoration.

    Reply

Yes but your contribution here describes the process. We know a great deal. We also have the capacity to learn a great deal more. We could do it. We are part of that forest family you speak of.

The best for forest rejuvenation is a forest fire But that does not go hand in hand with capitalism

    Reply

There is more to forest habitat than we know or understand. Fires do their job, but there is more.

How very radical of you Vanessa…. they’re only wanting to plant more trees so they have more to cut down!

    Reply

YES, finally someone says it !!!
there is enough cleared land on earth so we can manage our OWN Forrest farming operations. There is NO need to cut down any more old growth forests !!!

    Reply

They’ll just burn anyways. We must protect the forest floor that’s what has value

    Reply

What kind of tree’s?, curious! Figured different types for different region s

Reply

What country this suppose to happen in?

Reply

If this actually worked don’t you think we’d be using it now. The forest floor is what is valuable as you can see the soil they showed us has absolutely no value whatsoever and the seedlings will never survive there !

Reply

Somewhere down the track, someone’s going to have to collect a lot more tree seed that anyone has before, I’m thinking.

more inclined to think “pesticides” are altering daily life more & considering the fed govt has been attempting to control weather dating back to the 40’s is the source of the problem ….(assuming there is a problem). all the computer modeling has been wrong & unreliable, they refuse to have their work reviewed which logically leads any common sense person to think its BS. since when did science decide “the debate is over” when by definition it never ends, yet the fed govt is trying their best to sweep this under the carpet ? its also beyond odd there are no descending opinions on that illustrious group of pseudo scientist on the board claiming global warming aka climate change….it dont pass the smell test……you fail to conveniently mention the vast majority of CO2 comes from the ocean which can not be harnessed making the claim currently being pushed as more mere ….BS…..So with so much BS, how will taxing what cant be controlled benefit anyone, other than the fed govt creating another tax in search for complete control ?
