This is a short how-to-video showing how easy it was to build a gravity-based aquaponic system with pvc, and two fish tanks. There are fourteen spots for plants on each system. You can setup a system like this anywhere and let the fish provide all of the nutrients for the plants you want to grow. Here’s a brief overview of how this works and you’ll find the video below…
Lengths of PVC piping are connected together and rest above the tubs that will support the fish…
…holes are drilled uniformly along the PVC pipe that will hold the cups, which hold the plants…
…rocks for the bottom of the fish tubs, small fountain pumps to pump water up into the PVP pipes, and tubing to make sure it gets there…
…rocks in the tubs, pumps connected to the tubing…
…holes are drilled into the bottom of plastic cups…
…the plastic cups are placed in the holes in the PVC pipe, and the plants are planted in the cups (with a growing medium). The water flows up from the tubs providing nutrients for the plants…
