Best Selling Raised Garden Bed Kits…

Raised garden beds are excellent for growing small vegetable or flower gardens. They not only keep the garden looking tidier, but they make weeding a lot easier and provide a useful barrier to garden pests (and pets) helping to keeping them out of the garden. They can also become a very attractive center piece, whether you decide to make your own, or purchase a ready made kit.

Raised garden beds can be made from a number of different materials – usually wood, sometimes galvanized steel, and often times a robust fabric that you simply fill with soil in much the same way you would with a planter bag. There is no real advantage or disadvantage to either material (although wood and steel will generally last longer), so what you decide will depend entirely on your preference.

One thing to keep in mind when you’re deciding on the type you would like is that it needs to have a minimum soil depth of 6 inches and ideally 12 inches or more. This is to ensure there is enough room for the root systems of the plants you plan to grow. If you’re not interested in building your own raised garden beds, here are some of the best selling kits that are worth considering….

The Greenes Raised Garden Bed comes in at 4 Ft. X 8 Ft. X 10.5″ deep and provides 32 square Ft. of growing space for your vegetables or flowers (there are different kit sizes available too). This gives you ample size for a decent sized vegetable garden. It is made in the USA and being made from untreated cedar it is naturally rot and insect resistant as it contains a natural antibacterial and antifungal agent.

The actual garden bed kit is make from rough sawn, untreated and unfinished cedar, so it has a more rustic look rather than a smooth polished finish (something which a few previous customers seem to have been a little confused about). To put the kit together the boards simply slide into the corner posts to create a secure garden frame.

You can also stack two garden kits together (need to be purchased separately) to create a deeper garden bed of 21″ in depth – useful if you plan to grow plants with deeper root systems or would simply prefer a higher raised bed that’s easier to work in. With more than 700 individual customer reviews, this is a very popular raised garden bed kit. As previous customers have said…

“I purchased 3 of these raised beds in the summer of 2014 and even after going through 2 pretty tough winters they still look great. They were easy to put together and so far have held up very well. Everyone who comes over to our house comments on how nice the raised beds look. If I had more sunny areas in my yard I’d buy a few more…”

“…perfect for small garden areas. We have three in a line, easy to assemble…”

“Good price for cedar beds. Some of the boards are a little flimsy but overall it’s exactly what I was hoping to get…

“Just as great as I hoped it would be. I have 2 zucchini and 1 yellow squash in this 2×2 and it couldn’t be easier. Fill it and plant. I’ve already picked a bunch of squash and have many more coming. I have all of them on tables on my deck so no bending over, no weeding and no bugs so far. Highly recommend!..”
