Aeroponics is a gardening technique that uses small droplets of water and hydroponic nutrient mixed with air to maximize plant quantity and yield in a small area. It’s an excellent option to consider as it’s saves a lot of water whilst still producing high yields.

And because you can grow a lot of plants vertically, it’s an ideal growing method for balcony / patio gardens. It can also be setup to grow both outside or indoors.

This aeroponics growing tower is built using cheap food grade components with a focus on using materials that are easily sourced or recycled. Check out the build in part one…

…part two shows the system in operation including spray & misting, grow tubes, reservoir, pump and timer. It’s a few weeks after the build so you can see growth of lettuce, pak choi, basil and other leafy greens. The growth rate is amazing and the tower is now keeping us with a continual supply of salad greens and herbs…

If you like this idea, be sure to share it with your friends and inspire someone you know. Anything becomes possible with just a little inspiration…
