Upgrade? Hatty MurrayReply
I can buy a house for 50kReply
My much larger modular construction home cost about this much…Reply
If I’m dropping that kinda dough It’s not going to be on a container home. LOL This is the Tiny House Movement gone Hipster. LOLReply
Hipster? It’s about the same as a trailer and those are far from hipster. Same basic lines, footprint and size for the most part.Reply
Liz Andreasen To each their own I suppose. Difference in places as well. Here 50k will get you a fix it up in great shape to live in while you fix it up. To say nothing of the fact you can get one of these containers for about $2500. Could certainly build one like this for far less than 50k.Reply
Are containers classed as permanent structures? Trailers aren’t as they can be towed away and that makes a massive difference to planning law over here.Reply
In any county around here where you could drop that on a piece of land without being hassled, you could buy a small, run-down farm for that price.Reply
And what if you resell it after 20 years? Bad investment….Reply
Ebay’d containers. I can buy one for £1000
Watertight. Not sure how this jumps to 50,000 ?!?
Thats way over priced, is it gold plated. A new forty foot container is US$7,200. https://www.discovercontainers.com/how-to-purchase-your-shipping-containers/Reply
For the container, thats not a home. I’m sure this price includes everything else as well…cabinets, walls, etc. Probably all the decorating to.Reply
50k is ridiculous.
You would be insane to pay that much for that.
Jim Sessions let’s build one in the Keys!Reply
$117 per square foot is NOT economical!!Reply
Yes that is very expensive per square.Reply
