Thanks to humanity’s wasteful habits, approximately 40% of the lakes in America are too polluted for fishing, aquatic life, or swimming. That’s not something to be taken lightly. Unfortunately, too few care about the effects their daily habits cause, and this is why Portuguese street artist Bordalo II (Artur Bordalo) creates stunning animal artwork out of the trash people are quick to toss.

As you’ll view below, Bordalo creates gorgeous-looking animals out of trash that he scavenges. It’s ironic that he portrays nature (animals) with the materials that threaten it.

For years, the activist has created stunning works in various locations around the planet. From Portugal to Estonia and even the USA, he leaves behind thought-provoking sculptures that send a clear message: it’s time humans wake up and adopt more sustainable habits.
