Ideally you want to find pallets that have an “HT” stamp which stands for heat treated. Pressure treated wood is a no-no for growing food. But if ornamentals are your thing then go to town with whatever you can get your hands on and hope for the best…
Additionally, you’ll want to examine your found pallet to make sure there aren’t any signs of chemical spills. A big stain is usually a good warning sign to find another, cleaner pallet.
